I discovered Xomba almost a year ago, it seems like a Hubpages, Associated Content, write articles for money type site (because it is) and was quickly put off by the interface and content.

A week ago, I went back to the site after reading about some other users success stories. A person I trusted claimed $30.00 in earnings from 80 links followed by $50.00 in earnings the following month from a total of 110 backlinks.

I have been a member of this site for a little over 3 months, this site is another example of quite an ugly interface, that initially turned me off. I actually outsourced the backlink process in order to catch up with my backlog of hubs. I noticed rather quickly that the site was indexed very fast. My earnings via adsense have only been around 1.00 per month but the links generate around 600 page views to my hubs in a month.

At this point, I am very new to the redgage program. Redgage does not use an impression style program to pay for backlinks, it has its own algorithm for computing revenue per page views. When you reach $25, they send you a pre-paid visa card all further earnings are sent to this card. They seem to be fond of giving out random bonuses for submitted content. many new users are reporting earnings of 150.00 in a month dues to random bonuses. This service seems to have a good following with the Squidoo crowd.

Tagfoot doesnt directly fall in the same model. It allows you to bookmark and earn from ALL your bookmarks, so if you have a folder full of your own articles, than they are eligible to be earned from also. Tagfoot is an actual community and in order to be eligible to earn from the site you need to reach the ProFoot level. But attaining ProFoot is easy, so far i enjoy the site for its intended uses, not just for backlinks. You can find a lot of your hubber friends are already there!

As I am not a Profoot, I do not have personal experience about earning potential just yet. I joined almost 8 months ago but just learned about the revenue options recently. I have several hundred bookmarks so I am looking forward to discovering what options I have. In my last post I talked about setting up an affiliate blog targeting a product or service of your choice. I have chosen Brad Callen’s soon to be released website creation tool called Blinkweb. If you look at how I set up the blog called Blinkweb by Brad Callen you should be able to see which keywords I have optimized the posts and blog for.

In fact I am optimizing this post for the exact same keywords and I will explain why in a moment.

In step 1 I simply created a quick blog and posted a short article in order to get it live and indexed by Google. To speed up the indexing process I linked this blog to the new blog using the term Blinkweb in the anchor text of the link. Google crawls this blog frequently and follows all my do-follow links. The new blog showed up in the index on the same day. Now while it was in the index it wasn’t showing in the serp’s for any of the keywords I had optimized it for – most notably the term “Blinkweb”. The only term it did show up for was it’s URL name. http://callensblinkweb.blogspot.com/. (see image below)

This confuses some of you still. You can be indexed and in the sandbox at the same time. The easiest way to understand this is to realize that while Google will acknowledge that it knows you exist – ie. indexing your URL – it won’t necessarily index you in the serp’s for related keywords – something known as being in Google’s sandbox. This means that you can find your blog on Google by searching for your URL but not by using keywords. If you are sandboxed Google will de-list your blog from any of the keyword serp listings while it may or may not list your URL.

When Google has determined that your blog is legitimate and offers relevant content for certain terms it will suddenly release you from the sandbox and your blog will begin to appear in the keyword listings. These are the listings that you would like to rank number 1 for.

My new blog showed up in the keyword serp’s on day two. It went from not-indexed for the term “Blinkweb” to number 3 in the serp’s. (see below)

Over the next two days it dropped back to 5th and then today it has disappeared from the listings altogether. Does this sound familiar to any of you. I get a lot of comments from readers asking why they show up on the serp’s and then suddenly disappear. The answer is that this has become the new normal with the current Google algorithm. I would love to give you an expert answer as to what is happening but I don’t know myself – I can only tell you what “seems” to be happening from my own observations.

What seems to be happening is that fresh content plays a larger roll in serp rankings – at least for “busy” keywords – topics that suddenly get a lot of keyword hits. This means that when something new like Blinkwebs comes along there is a sudden fleury of blogs using that keyword. When someone queries the term on Google, it proceeds to build the list. Since there are no old established authority sites for the term everyone gets to play on an even field – at least for a while. In this situation the bot has it easy and simply lists sites based on it’s on-page SEO (Is the keyword in the blog’s URL? – in the blog’s Title? – in the Post Title? – in the post’s Text?) This coupled with fresh relevant posts will get your site on top of the index – at least at first. When fresh content slows down and G begins collecting more and more data regarding the keyword other factors begin having an effect on the listings – PR and backlinks come into play. Within a short time Google begins to re-order the list and in time it will settle down to the point that the page 1 listings will remain fairly stable. The back page listings are rarely stable and rankings can bounce around constantly. At least this is how Google has behaved in the past.

At present I have noticed a prolonged shake up in the serp’s for old established niches like “Make Money Online” and the page 1 listings for these older niches have been in a state of constant change for several weeks now. This has all transpired at the same time as G introduced the “Personalized Results” serp’s which no doubt has some bearing on all this. The end result however, is that it has become normal to get indexed, rank well in the serp’s for your keywords, suddenly find yourself de-indexed, then a few days later suddenly appear back in the serp’s but usually not ranking as well as you did in the beginning.

I guess I am trying to tell you to not panic if this happens to you. As long as you have a legitimate site then you will re-appear in the serp’s but you may go through the disappearing act a few times before settling down. Just be patient and more importantly keep posting and securing backlinks.

Case in point.

This blog took 2nd spot in the serp’s for the term “Blinkweb” the day after I posted my last article. It hung around page 1 for the better part of two days and then disappeared back to page 3 or more. Today it is back on page 1 in 4th spot. Now that it is back on page 1 my new blog has left the index. When it returns I hope to get it back on the first page along with this blog and anything else pointing to my site that I can. What I am going to explain now is something that I never see others doing and often wonder why.

Who says you can only have 1 spot on page 1?

I have touched on this in the past – if you are targeting a term then why not increase your traffic by simply ranking as many sites as you can on page 1 – this is especially true for affiliate marketing and when collecting leads. In most of my niches I usually have 3-4 different sites pointing to my money site in the top 10 on the serp’s. I have had as many as 8 sites at once on the page and I have several with 6 sites. (Note: – don’t do this with Adsense sites)

The reason for doing this is obvious – you will increase your traffic and ultimately your sales.

Since Blinkweb is a new program, page 1 on Google is up for grabs. The most relevant 10 sites will be chosen by relevancy, age, PR and most importantly who has the most relevant keyword anchored backlinks. You can assume the real Blinkweb site owned by the Callen’s will probably be one of the top 10 sites but don’t assume that they will be number 1. They should eventually as they will get the most anchored links in time but their site is new as well and can be outranked by older authority sites with better links – at least in the beginning.

Now what exactly am I babbling about? I am going to show you why backlinks are the key to everything when it comes to ranking well in the serp’s.


Let’s think about this logically. In time Google will run out of fresh content for a keyword like “Blinkweb”. This is because there is only so much that can be written about it. In fact most of the 400 pages already indexed for the term have pretty much the same content. Every post reads much like mine – this is because the program hasn’t been released yet and there has been no new info given about it from the designers. When Google runs out of fresh content it will start to rank the sites based on 1 factor – who are the authority sites? They determine this based on who has the most keyword authority which in turn is determined by who has the most links pointing to them with the keyword used in the link. Those who get links from higher PR sites will have an advantage over those who have low PR links but both will outrank all the other competitors that don’t have relevant backlinks.

Knowing that this “Niche” is new also tells me that I don’t need a lot of backlinks to rank well and even less if I was to procur high PR backlinks.

So…

I was fortunate to get 4 links to my last post in which 3 of the 4 links used the term “Blinkweb” in the link. One of the links came from a PR4 blog and another link came from a PR5 blog. Apparently 2 high PR links with keyword relevant links is enough for 4th spot at the moment.

The new blog Blinkweb by Brad Callen was fortunate to get 9 Blinkweb links. Several are from high PR blogs and all the links have keyword relevant anchor text. When it re-appears it should rank well. If you clicked the last link above you would have landed on the new blog’s Technorati page – currently a no-PR page. It now has a PR4 keyword relevant link pointing at it. If I was fortunate to get a few more high PR links pointing at it then there is a good chance that it might make page 1 of the serp’s as well. That makes 3 sites possible.




While we are at it – I mentioned that I have 4-5 high PR sites sending this blog and the new blog backlinks already. What if those blogs were to get a few high PR, keyword relevant backlinks of their own? They could conceivably make page 1 as well – hell that would make 9…

This isn’t likely to happen but what will happen is that I will have stronger backlinks all the way down the line which will increase the strength of the keyword authority for the 2 sites that are the ultimate recipients of all this strong link juice – this blog and the new blog. If you get both blogs double indexed then you can easily occupy 4 of the 10 spots on page 1. You will get more than your share of traffic.

This is how I mount a campaign for every niche I target if it is a new topic.

Yes – most of you are not “Fortunate” enough to get 4-5 high PR backlinks. I realize this but want to mention that very few of your competitors are that fortunate either. If you were to create hubpages and lenses and post several articles and send links from some of your existing blogs then you would find that 4-5 low PR links using the proper keyword in the anchor text would get you ranked well compared to most of your competitors who have few links and even less using the keyword.

I noticed a surge of hubpages and lenses created in the last few days for “Blinkweb”. I suspect a few of my readers have decided to jump on this niche and good for them. Most are using the hubs and lenses to send links back to their money site which is good but don’t forget to build links to those hubs and lenses as well. Don’t just get links for your main site – get them for all the sites linking to your main site – spend more time building keyword authority and you won’t need as many links to rank well. Your competition will be busy getting hundreds of PR0 non keyword relevant links from do-follow blogs and low link juice bookmarks.

Don’t panic if you aren’t on page 1 in a week. Be patient and build authority. This isn’t short term blogging. If your product or service is a winner it will produce sales for a while albeit usually more when new. If it takes a month to rank on top you will still have a decent run. If you keep building links you will hit page 1 – after an initial burst most of your competition will stop getting links – they either give up or they make page 1 and don’t think they need to do any more work.

I have yet to find a product that I couldn’t get on page 1 for. Some took longer but in the end every one made page 1 simply because I never stop getting backlinks and backlinks for my backlinks and backlinks for those backlinks as well. My main money site in any given niche may only have a dozen or so quality links but each one of those links has a dozen quality links of its own and so on. I hope you get the picture. If you build a hubpage to send link juice to your money site then build two more to send link juice to the first hubpage. Don’t be surprised to one day find all three hubs on page 1 for your keyword.

Ok, a long post to tell you to work smarter and not harder. You don’t need thousands of links – you just need a small number of really good links. You can get them by building up several interlinking sites from different venues – hubpages, articles, squidoo, technorati, social sites etc. Any page that links to your money site should be strengthened with keyword relevant links of their own. This pays off by ensuring your main site makes top ranking and more often than not you will rank several of the support sites as well. I do this all the time and have seen the difference in traffic when I get 3-4 sites on page 1. Btw, once you get 1 authority site on page 1 it makes it easy to get other sites on the page as well. Use it to link to new sites.

Keywords

If you read the two blog posts on the new blog you will notice some of the keywords I used. Aside from “Blinkweb” I used the term “Review”, “News” and “Video” in the blog description and posts along with “Brad and Matt Callen”. Experience has shown me that the quickest way to get traffic is to use “Review”, “News” or “Video” in a blog post. When people can’t remember the product name they will use names they remember like “Brad Callen”. I don’t just want to rank well for the term “Blinkweb”. I also want to rank well for the term “Blinkweb Review”, “Blinkweb News” and “Blinkweb Video”. These are terms that will be searched for in addition to the main keyword.

In fact…

The screenshot above is from my statcounter stats and lists the keywords used to find my new blog. Notice what long tails were used?

I normally write really long posts in order to get as many long tails indexed as possible. In a case like Blinkweb I don’t have to. It is an affiliate product and as such there will be a limited variety of keywords used when searching for it. A term like making money online may have hundreds of related long tails used in queries but a term like “Blinkweb” is never going to be searched for using more than half a dozen terms. It doesn’t require a long post to optimize half a dozen keywords.

At the time my Blinkweb blog was ranked number 1 for “Blinkweb Review”, Number 2 for “Blinkweb News” and in the top 3 for “Blinkweb”. Not bad for a two day old blog.

The more keywords you rank for the more traffic so don’t just target the obvious main keyword.

There you have it. I told you internet marketing is a numbers game. The more traffic you get the more money you make. The best way to increase your traffic is to rank as many sites as you can on page 1 and target all the relevant keywords – not just the main one – with each site. Remember this is possible when dealing with a new product because there are no pre-established authority sites. You can become the authority site if you are fast, SEO properly and most of all build links faster and better than every one else. Yup – it is work but more importantly – it does work.

I need a real “Blinkweb” post and a few other pages so just ignore them if you are a regular reader. I will continue this tutorial in a few days after the serp’s hopefully settle out a bit.

Twitter has taken the world by storm from the moment it first went online. It is already on par with Facebook, mostly because all people use them both. Facebook is used for their status updates and communication with others, and Twitter… well, for the same things, except at a much faster rate (if Facebook is used daily and mostly from a PC, Twitter is accessed every few minutes by the most prominent users from their mobile devices).

Of course, big and small businesses alike couldn’t possibly stand idle while a whole new market is forming and are getting into the game, too. From clothing companies to car dealers, almost everyone has at least an account for their advertising and public relationships management. A lot of the messages that they are Tweeting are advertisements, which, along with useless junk from spammers, are not really liked by the other users.


But there are those who do everything right and benefit greatly from an almost instant increase in popularity and therefore, sales and profit.

So, how can your business that just registered an account at Twitter start benefiting from it without annoying other users and gaining negative reputation?

Here are five great tips that will help you get started:

1. Answer questions and be helpful. Whether it’s related to your business, to the industry you work in or you personally, you should always try to answer all questions as well as possible. This will show other people that you are active, helpful and know what you’re doing, which will just lead to an increase in your follower count and business popularity.

2. Share information about your business. The whole idea that Twitter is based on is constant and fast updates about the users’ life. Your business account shouldn’t be different, either! Share facts, news, activity updates and anything else that isn’t classified as a secret. It’ll be like talking directly to a lot of reporters at once, and chances are high that word will spread about your company on other sites, especially if your information is useful, interesting and/or entertaining. This, in turn, will get you popularity, links, traffic, and… you guessed it, more money .

3. Talk about the industry. Your company is doing business in a certain niche or industry, and if you are at least somewhat successful, it means you have a bit of expertise on the subject. Don’t let that go to waste or just internal projects, talk about it on Twitter. Share your thoughts on the latest news, on what other companies and individuals are doing, predict things that you think will change in the future, etc.

4. Use it for social marketing. Create anticipation of new products, offer special, unique invites for beta testers, give away discounts, organize contests and viral campaigns and do other things which will attract attention and get people talking about you and your company.

5. Share interesting links… and Twitpics. If you found something interesting and useful, don’t keep it to yourself, share it! If you won’t, then someone else will, so there is no point in not doing it. And share Twitpics – Twitpic.com is a service that lets you share photos and images on Twitter, and their links are the most clicked on, by a large margin. If you’ve got something interesting going on at your office or you’re attending a great seminar with lots of important people, take a few pictures and share them. Everyone will like that!


These are just five of the many, many ways you can use Twitter to promote yourself, your business and your brand. If you come up with a great, innovative idea, try it! If you succeed, the benefits are excellent, and if you fail, it will be forgotten soon anyway, so why not do it?

Create a Yahoo Sitemap text file using Site Map Pro. You can either buy this software or go for evaluation version for generating your sitemap file which can be submitted to yahoo sitemap submit page.

Site Map Pro uses a wizard based method of creating a sitemap. There are 9 stages of the application. To create a quick standard sitemap:

Step 1: Select the first “Map a whole website option”
Step 2: Enter your website address or browse to your homepage.
Step 3: Press Finish
Your site map will be created and ready to preview.

What to show
By default the site map will show Title, Description and URL. This can be changed at step 4. You can choose to show a sample of text from each page too.

Groups


By default Site Map Pro will group links using the folder name:
http://www.example.com/products/page1.html > Products
http://www.example.com/company/about.html > Company
Defining and using groups will let you create user friendly professional sitemap layouts. Group information is saved in configuration files, so you don’t have to define it each time you want to create your sitemap.

Commission Junction is one of the biggest Affiliate Marketing website where you can find advertisers who need sales/clicks/leads for their business and you can earn commissions by getting their job done. Its not really as it looks the way it is. Getting advertisers is real easy because cj.com offers you with everything but the main problem comes when you are looking for real sales of the advertisers products.

The advertisers get their business conversions from the huge publishers base who promote their products using paid search bid management[SEM] , Organic Search Engine Optimization Traffic [SEO], paid Advertising, Shopping Feeds etc. Generally all the CJ advertisers are ranked based on their previous performance. Click on the Get Links Tab in the top and you will shown with 4 sub-menu options – General Categories, Advertiser List, SmartZone Settings & By Relationship. Select the Category which you think you can promote and you will be shown with a full list of advertisers of the same category. In the whole list of advertisers you can select any/all of them to ‘Apply for Program’ to get started and promote their products. The affiliate managers at each of these Advertisers either Auto-Approve your accounts, or keep them in ‘Pending Application’ or ‘Declined Application’ status. Some of the advertisers check out your previous performace and then approve and some advertisers check out the country from which you are registered and then accept/deny your application, because a advertiser from Uk would not generally expect sales from a person who is from India, unless if your performance previously is very good with other products.

The ‘By Relationship’ Tab is a section where you can find the complete list of advertisers you are already tied up with and having a Active status and you can promote their products. Check out the following screenshot for getting a idea on how the advertisers appear in your account after approval and you need to click on the ‘View Links’ section to get affiliated banner/link ad codes.

Once you Click on the Get Links option you will be shown with a page with different types of banner ads & text ads, out of which you need to select the one you want to promote. They are generally ranked based on performance as i mentioned above which means that the highest converting banner ads will be shown in the top. Its always recommended to use these high converting ones only but it again depends on the way of promotions you are going to make. Click on the ‘Get HTML’ link which is placed on the right most section of these banner ads.

There are some optional settings if you want to tweak with your banner ad in the Get HTML section which are – Encrypt link?, For use in email?, Set link to open a new browser window?, & Hide tracking code in link. These are optional settings which would help you in adding more features to your banner ads. Tips to write superb review to make money online

Have you ever tried out affiliate marketing? If you believe the hype, it’s a shortcut to riches – without doing any work. All you need to do is slap up a specially-formatted link to someone else’s product. Not exactly rocket science, is it?

The problem is, you’re unlikely to get any results that way. Think about it: when did you last buy something just because of a link or a 125×125 ad in a blog’s sidebar? If your answer is “never”, then why do you expect your readers to behave differently?

Now, think about the times when you have bought a product or subscribed to a service after reading about it online. Chances are, you read a recommendation or review from someone you trust.

I’m not going to spend time here telling you how to encourage trust (that’s a whole other blog post!) but I will let you into the secrets of writing a great review which actually gets readers to click through and buy.

Own the Product

I hesitated to include this because I feel it goes without saying – but you can’t write a review without owning the product, or using the service, that you’re reviewing. Don’t try to write a review based on sales copy or on other people’s reviews: if the product or service sucks, you’ve just lost any trust your readers previously had.

I’d recommend that you use the product before reviewing it. Sometimes that might just mean reading it, or trying it out, but the best reviews I’ve written have been ones for services I’ve used over several months, audio programs that I’ve put into practice, or books which have really made a difference to my life.

Structure Your Review

It’s easy for reviews to lose focus. Think about what you want to know when you read a review. You probably don’t want or need lots of details about all the product’s features (you can get that from the sales page). You do want to know whether it’s worth your hard-earned money.

With this in mind, I chose a structure which would encourage me to be concise, focused and useful in my reviews. Please feel free to adopt or adapt this for your own use!

• Overview

What is the product about? What is the name of the service? What is the URL? How does it help you? These are some questions that you should answer in the overview of the product or service.

• The price

Price is very important to people. It’s best to get the idea of pricing out in text as soon as possible so no one gets disappointed after reading the review and wanting the product only to find out it’s something they can’t afford.

• What’s included

Talk a little about everything that someone gets from buying a product or signing up to a service. This may even be a good area to talk about any promotional details as well.

• Good stuff

What are the things you particularly liked about the product or service you use?

• Bad stuff

Everything has a bad side, and again – your readers are not idiots and will figure them out. It only makes your review better to list out the negatives, and of course makes you look like a better reviewer.

• Verdict

Share your final thoughts of what you just reviewed. Sometimes a rating system like “x out of 10″ or something among those lines will give your readers a shortened opinion of what you think of the product.

Having a structure also makes it easier to write the review, reducing the temptation to procrastinate.

Tell the Truth

Despite what some bloggers and affiliate marketers seem to think, readers aren’t stupid. If you’re promoting a product as an affiliate, and you give a glowing review that insists everyone should run out and buy it … they’re going to be suspicious.

Now, the product really could be excellent. I only review things that I love. But don’t make it sound too good to be true. The reason I included “bad stuff” in my review template was because I wanted to let readers know about any drawbacks.

But doesn’t this put readers off buying? No – in fact, several people have said they bought the product because I gave an honest take on it. We know that nothing’s perfect, and in many cases, any little niggles are outweighed by the benefits of the product or service as a whole.

Get Personal

Finally, don’t be afraid to get a bit personal in your reviews. It’s easy to adopt a rather bland, factual tone when reviewing – and this won’t hold readers’ attention. There’s nothing wrong with offering your opinion (though you might want to acknowledge that others may feel differently), and telling a story about your own experience with the product or service can boost your sales.


Make it clear to readers why you’re reviewing this. What did it do for you? How has it changed your life for the better?

Beginner

You know who you are… Low levels of traffic, relatively new blog, little or no internet experience, no design or seo skills, and probably a sense frustration over the lack of earnings.

Some of the options in this section are better then others and matter of fact all of them can be used no matter what level you are currently at.  Novices can use any beginner level monetization methods and Probloggers have the luck of using everything and anything they see fit.

PPC – Pay Per Click is an advertising program in which ads are placed on your blog and you are paid whenever your visitors click on the ads.  It is the most common method bloggers use to make money online.  It involves almost no effort and is so incredibly easy that many blogs have too much advertising on them.   Money is maximized as traffic levels increase.

In-Text Ads – You know what these ads are.  You have probably seen them all over small blogs and websites on the internet.  They are links with double-lines below them.  While sometimes useful for blog owners pockets, they eventually irritate and annoy most readers into leaving the blog and not returning/subscribing.  In-text ads should be used with caution.

Text Link Ads – As your blog builds reputation and traffic your posts/pages become great places for links.  Many people will even pay you to put their link on your website or page.  While it has earning potential, be leery of this form of revenue as it may be detrimental to your blog in Google’s algorithm.  So study it out before you make your decision.

Feed Ads – An easy way to increase the advertisement on your blog is by adding them to your rss feeds.  The simplest way is to get Feedburner and set it up for your blog.  Once you have done that then click on the monetize tab and Google Adsense will be added to your feeds in almost one-click!

Paid Surveys and Polls – It is just what it says it is.  You fill out surveys and polls or place them on your blog for others to fill out and earn money.  In doing this option be careful to find survey or poll companies that have credible backgrounds as this is a source for scammers.

Pop-up Ads – These pesky and annoying advertisements may be great for some of your niche blogs or sub-domains.  Not worth putting on blogs you actually want to build a community on, pop-up ads offer decent revenue to blogs looking to exist but not grow significantly.  But be aware that it is annoying to the reader.

Audio Ads – “You are a winner”, “You may have just won a free Ipod”, etc. These audio ads can be very targeted to your traffic and very successful or completely useless.  For instance, many surfers do not even have their sound on while they surf to avoid such advertisements.  I would recommend not using this sort of advertisement for long-term projects.

Article Marketing – A two-edged sword.  You get both quality backlinks to your blog and its posts while also creating earning potential.  I use Squidoo and Associated Content personally and earn enough money to support my blogging efforts and some advertising.  It’s also very easy through the simple resources available to you.  Using this blogging income source is both potentially lucrative and excellent marketing.

Novice

Now that you are novice you have more experience and a lot more traffic.  Because of the increase in visitors the potential to earn more is also greater.  Here is a few extra things you can include into your earning formula from the beginning level.  Again, make sure to find what is right for your blog.

Direct Banner – With ppc and cpm advertising there is potential to make money, but direct banner ads bring advertising on your blog to a new level.  It takes a little more work but you can find yourself making much more money and doing it pretty quickly.  I use OIOPublisher and it is a premium plug-in that completely rocks.  It even offers affiliate incomes to others who will try to get advertisers for your blog.  Read more.

Premium Content – Great example of premium content is SeoMoz.  They have lots of great content on seo for free, but to get the ultimate seo resources you have to pay a monthly fee.  To make premium content on your blog just creat a post or page usign Wordpress.  Then in the publish toolbox click on “edit” on the “visibility” option.  Then choose “password protected”.  Set your password and publish.  The only to do then is create a lead page that explains the premium content and allows people to pay, using paypal or another source to get the password emailed to them.

Sponsored Reviews – These are reviews of products through direct contact by the product owner or through a review site.  A good example of a product review is WP Content Robot.  It is easy and you usually get to try out some pretty cool products for free.

Sponsored Post -  Like a sponsored review these are posts paid for by others.  What this usually looks like is a post created about a specific website or allowing the post to link to another blog with very specific and targeted keyword links.

Theme or Template Sales – To get this money making product going you first need some serious design skills or the money to pay for someone to develop it.  Once a unique design is created premium themes can go from $19 -$200.  There is great earning potential in creating themes and another very advantageous bonus.  When you create your theme a link is put into the footer of the theme with your blog’s url.  So the more themes that are used the more backlinks to your blog.

Private Forums – Creating a private forum is a great way for bloggers to capitalize on their contacts and build a tight-knit and motivated community.  Some of these communities can be used for social media manipulation and many other “secret” and “exclusive” means.  You can make the fee yearly or monthly if you wish and start to build a steady income through member participation.

Plug-in Sales – Warning: programming required!  If you can develop or know someone who can develop a plug-in for wordpress then you have the potential to make and sell premium plug-ins.  The first step is to find something extremely useful and unique.  Then create an affordable plug-in to assist bloggers in their task to rule the blogosphere.

Email Newsletters – These are becoming extremely popular.  The purpose of the email newsletter is to build up a mailing list of email addresses and then use the emails you send to drive traffic, sales, or income in a variety of ways.  Creativity is the best way to use this revenue source.  Additionally it is important to start building your email list as soon as possible.  But be warned that most newsletter services of any value cost money (but not a lot).

Ebook Sales – Writing an ebook is a great way to establish credibility and expertise in your niche while also providing a handsome income.  The way it works is that you provide a very useful resource – like an electronic book and then others buy it.  The best way to understand the process is by learning how to write an ebook and then how to sell it.

Freelance Work – Once you have established yourself you can start consulting, writing, designing, and offering other services through your blog.  I have had a lot of experience with consulting and it is a great income and a lot of fun. So you are an expert at getting traffic and building your blog.  The next thing you need to do is apply all the right things from the list above and use your traffic to leverage the new moneymakers below.  You’re the expert so get started!

Job Boards – Big blogs and bloggers have realized that there is great money in job boards.  A great example of this is Problogger’s job board.  He gets a monthly fee just to post the job opportunity and creates a lot of buzz for his blog with it too.  When you become the place for people in your niche to come to, start a job board.

Event Sponsors – Having events on your blog is a great way to get more traffic and revenue.  For example hold a blogathon (blogging marathon), contests, featured story, giveaways and other events to bring traffic and get sponsors to pay you for.  A good example would be to have a webinar that is extremely publicized and then to get a relevant company to sponsor the event.  Thus you are getting more traffic and money in one big hit.
